Shaykh Mohammed Desai is a lifelong resident of Fremont, CA, and began his journey in Islamic knowledge from a young age. Under the guidance of his parents, he began memorizing the Qur’an early in childhood and completed his Hifdh by the age of 13.

To further his studies in the Islamic sciences, he traveled to South Africa, where he enrolled in the esteemed Dar al-Uloom Azaadville. Over the course of six years, he engaged in a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum, covering Arabic language and literature, Aqidah, Fiqh, Tafsir, and Hadith. During his time there, he also completed an advanced course in Qira’at al-Sab‘ah and received formal Ijazah in Qira’at from Shaykh Qari Abdullah Motara. He graduated in 2022 with an Aalimiyyah degree and later pursued postgraduate studies in India.

Currently, Shaykh Mohammed Desai serves as one of the Imams at the Lowry Masjid (Islamic Society of East Bay). He is also the Executive Director of Bayt Ul Falah Institute, where he leads the Hifdh Department. In addition, he teaches at the Centerville Islamic Center in Fremont. He resides in Fremont with his family and continues to dedicate himself to teaching, spiritual development, and community service.
